Maria Montessori was an Italian physician and educator with a degree in psychology, philosophy and natural sciences, internationally known for the educational method that bears her name, the Montessori method.
She has worked in different countries (Europe, USA and India) in times of great change, which has influenced her pedagogical approach.
The principles of Montessori education
Montessori education is an “open” education method based on respect for the child, his or her personality, rhythm and stages of development. This method aims at the blossoming of the child, through the development of :
- Self-esteem and self-confidence.
- Autonomy, through learning based on experimentation.
- A sense of responsibility.
- Enjoyment of learning, motivation.
The Montessori method for teaching languages
Inspired by the Montessori pedagogy, we have put these values at the centre of our learning to create our courses for teaching languages.
In our distance learning courses, you will find fun and adapted tools to set up Montessori workshops with which the child will acquire language knowledge in a concrete way.
According to Maria Montessori, the child has an “absorbing mind“, that is, the child absorbs everything around him, like a sponge. Children absorb their environment in order to understand it so that they can adapt to it.
The child will absorb all information from his environment in a natural way using all his senses. This is how he will learn his mother tongue and how he will be able to learn a new one.
Our aim is to give you access to activities inspired by Montessori pedagogy, adapted to current teaching methods, for the learning of languages for children from 3 to 10 years.
Our training courses are aimed at people who are already teachers or people retraining who wish to teach a new language to children using the Montessori pedagogy.
